‘Life’ is more than just abortion, contraception
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Roman Catholics, under the direction and example of their bishops and priests, certainly never engage in any sexual activity unless it is for the purpose of procreation.
If a Catholic couple does not want a child, they refrain from this activity like all single people. So why are bishops so concerned about health care insurance that would cover contraception and abortion? No one who is a Catholic would ever use that part of their insurance. And shouldn't one respect those who do not have the same moral code? When life begins and ends is not scientifically known and faith is compatible with questioning, not certitude.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we were all really concerned about the right to life of those caught in the middle of our battles of war and those on death row?
