Life as we knew it didn’t seem so bad

Being of the older generation, I have made some interesting observations:
Nike now makes socks marked left and right. People talk into small boxes using their fingers. I just purchased an upside-down tomato plant. Women now surpass men having advanced degrees, requiring them to decide who will be the stay-at-home mom.
Jeans are valued on how many shreds and tears are in the fabric. A television show called “Bad Girls” sports female wrestlers on the boys' team. Football players get light sentences after being accused of rape. Barry Bonds get a lighter sentence. Donald Trump is considering running for president.
In thinking back, I remember talking with my friends and neighbors face to face. Our family planted a garden. Putting on our socks required very little concentration. Jeans with holes in them were thrown away. Sports seemed honest and fun. We cried with Opie on the “Andy Griffith Show.” And our president had a normal hairdo.
It didn't seem so bad.
