Liberal reactions to violence blame right

It is apparent Jennifer Hemmingsen (“Shootings are not a coincidence,” May 5 column) obviously missed Glenn Beck's use of irony when he opined that the shooting at the Houston airport was a setup to demonize gun owners during the National Rifle Association convention in that city.
I took Beck's comments as an obvious jab at liberal reactions to previous violence. When a madman shot up Gabby Gifford's rally in Tucson, the left blamed Sarah Palin and conservatives for spurring violence. ABC's Brian Ross said the killer in the Aurora, Colo., theater might be a Tea Party member. Leftist bloggers “prayed” that the Boston Marathon bombers were white supremacists or anti-government militia members.
Wrong on all accounts.
