Letter: Wrong to accuse left of judicial gridlock

When I read the Oct. 14 letter from David Solberg 'Lawmakers must address judicial gridlock,” I initially thought perhaps he was being facetious when he talked about the gridlock on the left causing vacancies in our judicial system.
Where was he when our own Sen. Chuck Grassley refused to even allow a hearing on Merrick Garland, President Barack Obama's March 16, 2016, nomination for the Supreme Court? It takes real chutzpah to accuse the left of gridlock when Obama's nominee was denied a hearing or an up-or-down vote for 10 months, by none other than Sen. Grassley.
