Letter: Wrong message being conveyed

Regarding the Sept. 2 article 'Nearly $350,000 in payouts pledged”:
I am remiss to comprehend the audacity of awarding - excuse me - rewarding three local school district personnel $350,000 in taxpayer money for not doing the job they were hired to do; that being to run a tight ship.
What message does this send to our youth, to our honest hardworking laborers, to our prospective newbies to Cedar Rapids? Is this becoming the norm?
I am seeing an annoying analogy comparable to the Hillary Clinton rationale. Does she deserve to be awarded the presidency as a reward for devious dealings and 'careless accounting?”
Granted, I am old and over the hill, but I still find it difficult to swallow a bitter pill.
