Letter writer has short memory

To the editor:
Regarding the Dec. 6 letter 'Compassion should outweigh fear” by Jack Jackson:
The letter writer believes that refugees should have almost unfettered access to our shores, contending that 'the vetting process to enter the U.S. is extensive,” and claims that no refugee admitted has been involved in an act of terrorism.
Huh? The letter writer has a short memory, indeed. Boston Marathon bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev had sought - and were granted - asylum in the U.S. The rest of us remember how that ended.
So much for the government's extensive screening process.
