Letter: What is so special about Planned Parenthood?

After reading some of your, in my opinion, left-leaning coverage of the Planned Parenthood funding debate, I wish someone would tell me what is so special about Planned Parenthood. Can't all the services they provide be obtained at any OB-GYN doctor, although not all physicians are willing to perform abortions? Planned Parenthood does not even provide mammograms, another important women's health service.
So, why can't the money the state denies Planned Parenthood be distributed to other doctors providing women's health services in Iowa? There is something strange about Planned Parenthood arguing that women will be denied health services if they are not around.
