Every time I walk through the door of the Cedar Rapids Public Library, I can't help but smile at the constant thrum of activity. This energy is a direct result and reflection of the amazing programming and services developed and provided by the library's talented staff.
I was thrilled to read that the Cedar Rapids Public Library was named as a finalist for the prestigious National Medal for Museum and Library Services. This is well-deserved recognition of the tremendous dedication, creativity and talent of our library staff.
As a part of my profession, I have visited many libraries across the country. I continue to be amazed at the profound impact these institutions have on their communities. I also am reminded that Cedar Rapids' staff is among the best. On your next visit to the library, please congratulate the staff and thank them for all that they do.
