Letter: We need gun regulation, not gun control

When we use their term 'gun control” we are ceding the argument to the NRA.
Do we call housing regulation - housing control? Automobile regulation - automobile control? Professional regulation - profession control? On and on.
The term 'control” connotes pervasive government takeover of an entire activity. That is, of course, how they want to frame the discussion.
Like all regulations for the purpose of public health and safety we simply need reasonable 'gun regulation.” Don't play into the NRA's clever and to date completely successful 'control” of the terms of this discussion.
