Letter: Walk celebrates hope of recovery

Please join the first Art of Recovery walk Sept. 25, sponsored by Prelude (formally MECCA).
September is National Recovery Month. It is estimated over 23 million Americans are addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs, and just as many American adults are living in recovery. For each person actively addicted, or recovering, there are family members, loved ones and communities affected by the disease of addiction.
Let's help change the stigma of addiction and celebrate the hope of recovery!
The Prelude Art of Recovery walk will begin 1:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Terry Trueblood Recreation Area in Iowa City. You may register at www.preludeiowa.org. Following the walk at 3:30 p.m., 'The Anonymous People” will be shown followed by a panel discussion at FilmScene. Tickets online.
Hope to see you there!
