Letter: Vote Gary Hinzman for mayor on Nov. 7

Did you know that six people are running for the mayor of Cedar Rapids and we, the citizens, will be voting in about 90 days or less for a new one?
Voting for a new mayor is kind of like buying a new set of tires. Most people who have a car pay attention, provide continued maintenance, change the oil and rotate their tires. However, time passes, and they soon need a new set of tires that will be suitable for at least the next four to eight years.
What kind of mayor are we looking for? I am suggesting we need a mayor who will be reliable, dependable, experienced and instinctively knows what will be needed, over time, for all Cedar Rapidians.
Let's not go for the same old, but select Gary Hinzman for our mayor, one who will serve and deliver for the community.
So now get ready, set and go vote Nov. 7 for the next mayor of Cedar Rapids, one we can be proud of, one concerned about our city and one not using the city's valuable time running to be the governor for the State of Iowa.
