Letter: Visitor grateful for kind gestures

My daughter is a new student at the University of Iowa.
Last week, I was driving near the university and stopped to bring her some items. During my visit we went to the bookstore on Clinton Street a couple of times, had lunch at the Airliner, stopped in the mall. It was a short, but great visit.
During my drive back it dawned on me that every door I walked through was held open for me by young men I assume were students. This put a huge smile on my face. With all the horrible things happening in the world this warmed my heart.
Bravo to these young men in Iowa City! Keep it up, your kind gestures will always be appreciated.
