Letter: Trump’s actions and words matter

Do people's actions and words indicate how a person will act in the future? My experience tells me they do. We need a president who is smart and thoughtful and thinks before he acts.
Because of the way many people voted we have a president-elect who has no filter. A man who speaks as soon as he hears something he doesn't like. We have a president-elect who has admitted to grabbing women by the genitals and watching women undress at beauty pageants. We have a president-elect who made fun of people with disabilities in front of a crowd while campaigning. We have a president-elect who has made disparaging remarks about Hispanics, blacks and gay people. I don't understand how people voted for him and continue to support him.
I am worried that his lack of ability to think through a problem and to think before he acts is going to get us into a major world conflict with other countries. Our leader's actions and words are what protect us from disaster and failure. Look at who we elected and what he continues to do since the election. Do you think he is going to change and be a different person? Experience tells us it's not likely. Do you feel safe? I don't.
