Letter: Trump is qualified for presidential office

The Clinton presidential campaign's current effort to paint candidate Donald Trump as a potty-mouthed womanizing boor, therefore unsuited to the presidency, well illustrates the advice against throwing rocks when living in glass houses. The overt predation of women by Bill Clinton is legendary, as is Hillary's own reputed penchant for blue language. Further, she herself was the 'angel of death” in destroying the lives and reputations of her husband's victims. If we must elect Hillary that puts Bill back in the White House, not an especially comforting prospect.
This hypocritical smear is a useless distraction from the real issues. On display are Clinton's manifold and truly formidable negatives: her role as architect of disastrous American foreign policy, lackluster senatorial career, spectacular 'Hillarycare” failure, cavalier disregard of the Federal Espionage Act, loose association with truthfulness and a whole chronicle of other scandals and abuses.
Character assassination based on specious and exaggerated claims is a favorite ploy of the Democrats, as supporters of Mitt Romney in 2012 well remember. No candidate is perfect; Trump may have his own warts and barnacles, but his record of achievement and his patriotism far outstrip anything Clinton brings to the table.
