Letter: Trump has the right to change his mind

So Donald J. Trump may have given money to past Democrat candidates for political office.
Lyman Trumbull (1813-1896) opposed slavery and helped frame the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. He also guided Amendment 14 through Congress (equal rights and due process for all naturalized citizens).
World Book says he served in public office as a Democrat, Republican and a liberal Republican. He served in the Illinois Supreme Court from 1849 to 1854 and in the U.S. Senate from 1855 to 1873. After leaving the Senate, he was active in Illinois politics as a Democrat and then a Populist.
Being able to use one's right and left hands (or right and left sides of the brain), possibly at the same time, may not be such a bad thing.
