Letter: Traffic lanes in dire need of marking

I agree with Frank Spinler's July 3 letter 'C.R., area streets in need of fresh paint”.
In a lot of places you cannot tell where your lane is. Driving at night and in wet conditions is worse.
Why can we afford to plant flowers in the middle of Highway 100 and cut lane traffic to one lane for weeks and let the lane markings on our streets go to disrepair? The lane markings are disgraceful. The cost of paint is a small price to pay compared to entire streets being redone.
Cedar Rapids is better than what we are getting. It's time the people responsible for street repair decisions to stand up and do the job they are being paid to do.
