Regarding the April 29 guest column by Jim Dyer, Waldo Morris and John Rosenberg 'Consider privatizing city-owned golf courses”:
What a novel idea! Using the knowledge of three fellows who have been involved in golf course management for 43 years. Why didn't the city consider that? They have certainly been successful. Why not get together with them and pick their brains a little. No, Cedar Rapids always has to hire a consultant. Doesn't anyone in city government have any original ideas? They've spent a fortune on consultants in recent years.
This is just an opinion from someone who loves the game of golf and enjoyed playing it for many years.
