Letter: Time to patrol traffic on Interstate 380

It's not if I am going to die on Interstate 380 between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, it is when.
Have you traveled that highway? Cars drive 80 or 90 miles per hour. They swerve in and out. People pass you on the right.
One gentleman passed me the other day at 80 miles per hour and he was reading his newspaper at the wheel. There are hundreds of close calls every day and usually a very serious crash. I am not a trained NASCAR driver. I am an old lady and I am scared.
I am starting a campaign to make the drive on I-380 between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids safer. I am calling it patrolled and controlled.
I am starting by writing to the highway patrol, local newspapers and TV stations and my representatives in government.
Rarely do you see a highway patrol car on the road arresting someone. It's time to blast that highway with police protection and change the culture of that drive. Please help.
