Letter: Thank you, St. Luke’s, for genuine care

On Sept. 19, my dad had to have surgery at St. Luke's Hospital scheduled as an outpatient. The surgery ended up being more complicated than expected and he was admitted overnight. I decided on the spur of the moment to stay and keep him company.
I cannot express enough thanks for the incredible care shown by the night nurses and staff, for both my dad and myself. Things maybe didn't go as smoothly as planned, but every time the call button was pushed they handled it as professionals and showed genuine concern. The follow up by nurses, doctors and social workers has been exemplary. Cedar Rapids is lucky to have you all.
Oh, and thanks for the toothbrush and paste Tuesday morning - really needed it.
