Letter: Support our thriving arts community

We have a gem in our midst and we need to support it.
I attended the play 'Harvey” at the Giving Tree Theater in Marion on Feb. 12. Many of you may be familiar with the movie of that name that starred Jimmy Stewart. It was wonderfully done and very entertaining. This was my second time attending a play there - the first being 'The 39 Steps,” which was also terrific.
The Giving Tree Theater is located in Marion and is a small, quaint theater - filled with sofas, recliners and tables - something of a dinner theater atmosphere. The owners do a variety of plays. 'Steel Magnolias” is next. They even have a few musicals coming up. I encourage you to support this enterprise, we are blessed to have it.
We are very blessed to have a thriving arts community. Please support our theaters, the symphony orchestra, our museums and schools. They need us to continue to attend and support them. I guarantee you will be entertained in the process.
