Letter: Stand united and respect people’s choice
Shirley Fisher

I am a 92-year-old Republican woman. I married my high school sweetheart 73 years ago.
My husband graduated from the University of Iowa, served in World War II and the Korean conflict as an infantry officer.
When the political party changes and our choice is not in office, we do our very best to support and do what we can for our country.
We are very concerned with the status of our country at this point now that the shoe is on the other foot and our party is the people's choice. We have protests with the use of foul language, physical marches and horrid news coverage.
What my wish is: that you respect the people's choice and for you and our country to let the world know that we are the United States of America.
