Letter: Solutions to snout houses raise concerns

Our city leaders are concerned about the proliferation of 'snout houses” in Cedar Rapids because of concerns about lack of a 'walkable” city.
One proposal is to build housing areas with alleys behind the houses. Will those alleys be well maintained by the city (ie: cleaned and plowed)? If so, will that lead to increased property taxes?
Another proposal is to have side entry garages, which will definitely lead to an increase in lot sizes. That, in turn, will lead to larger property taxes.
To me these are solutions looking for a problem.
