Letter: Snout house designs are ideal

Snout cars fit in snout garages. All cars are snout design. It would be wrong to try to change them with social engineering.
Also, to change back to the past of 40' lots with the garage in the alley won't work. It doubles the concrete, allows for monster garages and yard storage, plus more maintenance and taxes. Look at old neighborhoods with those problems. Don't solve or create a problem that doesn't exist. Snout houses offer easy access and security, allowing you to park in your secure garage. Requiring alley parking and long driveways or wider lots with side parking would create problems. Reducing the lot size with an alley reduces the use of the lot for the homeowner. Lastly, it puts the house toward the street, increasing noise, decreasing security and privacy. I'm glad I own a beautiful snout home, with a beautiful view of the sunset without garages.
