Letter: Show respect to President Trump
Rev. John Sheda
Mar. 23, 2017 1:00 am
The other day I ran across a friend I hadn't seen in a while and after some cordial greetings, he said he was suffering from 'Trumpitis.” Cute, I guess, but here was his next comment: 'What a clown Trump is. Nothing but a clown.”
Now I know President Donald Trump is not well liked by many, but neither were presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and the rest of our presidents. That does not change the fact that they were our presidents and Trump is now the president of the United States.
Isn't it time to put aside the name calling and show some respect, regardless of who is in office? I know President Obama wasn't treated very nicely either. And neither were many of the presidents who preceded him. But to call President Trump a clown? Doesn't get much lower than that.
