Letter: Road crew applauded for job well done

Many people like to complain about road work interruptions, but I want to issue a compliment to the crew who recently repaved Tower Terrace Road north of Hiawatha. They laid down several layers of new asphalt with a speed and efficiency hard to imagine. They then installed and compacted roadside borders and painted fresh new traffic lines.
I must admit having to wait for the 'follow-me” car was frustrating at times, but the driver did his/her best to keep the traffic moving. The workers directing traffic at intersections were efficient and friendly. The entire work crew didn't dally - no one was seen standing around gawking while others worked. City/county borders are a bit confusing along this stretch of road with Hiawatha, Cedar Rapids and Linn County all involved. Kudos for working together. The completed road is great.
