Letter: Republicans are not party of the people

Donald Trump claims we will be safer if he is elected. Remember this, the worst terrorist attack on this country happened on the Republican's watch. He also claims the Republicans are a party of the people. Don't believe it. They have never been a party of the people. They only represent 1 percent of the population, the rich. They are anti-labor and anti-government. If they had their way they would eliminate all labor unions. Workers would have no rights whatsoever.
Trump has said the first government agency he will shut down is the Environmental Protection Agency. He can't have it fining big corporations for polluting our air and water. I urge everyone to read 'Dark Money” by Jane Mayer and you will see what their real agenda is. Ronald Reagan coined the phrase 'trickle-down economics.” He neglected to tell the people that it meant to make the top 1 percent richer and it would trickle down pennies on the dollar to the rest of the populace. This brings to mind the old story of how the government tricked Native Americans into a 50/50 gold mine venture. The government got all the gold and the Native Americans got the shaft. If the Republicans take control of Washington that's what is going to happen to us.
