Letter: Regulations shackle us every day

Mayor Ron Corbett's quote, as stated in the Oct. 9 Gazette, about the Cedar Rapids flood: 'Rules and regulations shackle people and we had four days to react.”
Could we let all the lawmakers read and ponder this statement?
I, for one, would like them to know this is the way a lot of us common people feel about many of the rules and regulations they pass as our representatives in government. We have to deal with these rules and regulations on a daily basis while trying to do our jobs to earn a legal living.
And 'rules and regulations shackle us and we deal with them 365 days a year!”
