Letter: Ray is dependable, trustworthy

We have a county supervisor, duly elected, who decides he wants to switch parties. That's his right, no argument, but one residual issue remains: who gave him the money he has in his war chest? Those funds collected by Brent Oleson before he declared his allegiance to the Democrats were collected from the faithful, and in good faith, to represent them as a Republican.
So, what is one to do in this turn of events? Well, here's an idea. Give it back either to the individuals or all at once to the Republican Party. I asked a good Democrat friend of mine what he thought about this and his response was: 'It's the only ethical thing to do.” Now, should he say that he cannot identify which funds came from Republicans I would respond that if his record keeping is that loose he does not qualify for the office in the first place. So, Oleson, step up to the plate and do the ethical thing.
Oh, and just in case I have not made my position clear, I'm pulling for Randy Ray, someone we can depend upon. We trusted Ray with our kids at Washington High School, we can trust him with our county.
