Letter: Media demonstrates double standard

Todd Dorman's opinion on Oct. 11, 'Riding the Trump bus to a dark place” was about what Donald Trump said 11 years ago. It was an attempt to display a local Republican as a trophy on the left's wall of selective moral outrage. While no one is going to defend such language, who among us hasn't said or done something we regret? What makes this piece so amusing is it perfectly demonstrates the media's double standard. During Bill Clinton's moral lapses as Arkansas governor and later as president they chose to defend or ignore his actions, not condemn them. After all, 'It was only about sex!”.
If that weren't bad enough, Clinton presents herself as the champion of women everywhere. What a horse laugh. She was and still is Bill's biggest enabler as he sexually abused women, not only by what he said, but by his actions their entire marriage. Hillary's own abuse of women isn't limited to what was said years ago either, but to what is ignored today. Two of the biggest donors to the Clinton Foundation are Saudi Arabia and Qatar to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. These Islamic countries promote FGM, female genital mutilation, today, not 11 years ago. They also promote child brides, today, not 11 years ago. Have you ever heard her condemn these female abuses? I submit that if media liberals don't condemn this hypocrisy, perhaps they're 'Riding the Hillary broom to a darker place.”
