Letter: Let us not tarnish our image

Iowa has one of the highest ranking universities in the nation, especially as a medical and a medical teaching hospital. We should all be proud of this institution, our state, and many of our other accomplishments.
I want to state my agreement with Stan Thornberry in his Feb. 9 letter regarding his support of Bruce Harreld ('Juvenile behavior at UI is embarrassing”). I also support Harreld and the people who chose him for his position.
Those who are in opposition to the decision of hiring Harreld must remember that they either had no say in the matter (and still do not) or were out voted in the decision.
