Letter: Kinnick perfect place for concerts

It appears the Back Porch Revival concert on Aug. 27 was a fun time and, hopefully, a successful fundraising effort for Dallas Clark's and Ashton Kutcher's terrific Native Fund, established to help with disaster relief in Iowa.
Though it must certainly cause headaches for University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, it's good to see our beloved Kinnick Stadium used as a concert venue. The facility has undergone tens of millions of dollars worth of renovations in the past couple of decades with more to come and it seems a shame to use it just six times a year for Hawkeye home games.
Perhaps next time, though, Kinnick could be used this way to raise funds for the academic mission of the University of Iowa - for need-based, in-state scholarships, maybe. That would be a welcome and desperately needed sign of support for the institutional home of the Hawkeyes.
