Letter: Killing geese isn’t the only solution

I appreciate that people don't like geese droppings in the parks and on hiking trails but hate the thought of resorting to hunting these beautiful and fun birds in order to clean up.
What about making clean up a mandatory requirement for residents who need to do restitution for crimes they've committed? There are plenty of people needing to make restitution and they could clean up the park nearest to where they live.
It would reduce the cost to the city, protect the goose population that's grown here, and get people involved in helping the community instead of tearing it apart.
