Letter: Juvenile behavior at UI is embarrassing

Regarding the Jan. 23 article 'Some hoped Harreld's comments would oust him”:
The juvenile behavior exhibited by the faculty at the University of Iowa toward Bruce Harreld is embarrassing. The sniping, name-calling and taunting enumerated in the article has no place for professionals, especially an institution of higher learning.
Harreld was selected by people who were more qualified than the faculty for that task and had the responsibility to do what they thought was best for the university. The Regents felt that the skill sets he brings to the university are those required in these tumultuous times. Faculty may not like him for a variety of reasons, but they must respect the position and the Regent's decision.
In the business world, if you don't like the decisions management makes, you have two choices; do what you're paid to do or leave. If you don't like the leadership here, move on. I'm paying part of your salary and neither the students, nor I, are getting our money's worth.
Some say 'Those who can, do; those that can't, teach.” While I don't accept that premise, some people at UI appear to be trying to prove that axiom.
