Letter: Justin Shields deserves re-election

Justin Shields has been a 12-year member of the Cedar Rapids City Council representing District 5. He has done an outstanding job and deserves to be re-elected to another four-year term.

He not only represents his district well, but has the global view of city government that all council members should have. He is a voice of reason on all issues. He gives the job his 100 percent attention at all times and is very thorough while investigating each topic of concern.

I have worked with him closely on the city's public golf course issue. He gets past the rhetoric to examine the bottom line and how officials got to that bottom line, while still looking out for the mission of what Cedar Rapids should provide to its taxpayers and visitors in recreational opportunities.

Please re-elect Justin Shields.
