Letter: It’s time for Sen. Grassley to retire

Everybody knows a 'worker” who looks busy, pleases the boss, puts off decisions, passes work to others but produces little.
I supported Sen. Chuck Grassley for two terms because he worked, was for early childhood and supported wind power, among other reasons. But now he fits the 'busy worker” group.
He writes a letter for a supporter, get his picture and a nice article in the paper, no doubt knowing that the letter has little chance of success. He visits 99 counties and talks to individuals in nursing homes and solicits money from small groups of donors and calls that representing Iowa. Most importantly, he stalled hearings for a replacement judge for the Supreme Court. A judge badly needed during this year of difficult decisions. He did this to please his real bosses - the Republican leaders in Congress (not Iowans).
He is a afraid to make the difficult decisions his office requires. Time to retire this ineffective 'busy worker.” Send someone to Washington willing, ready and able to make hard decisions.
