Letter: It’s called competition, not cannibalism

I'm not a gambler anymore, so I don't care if Cedar Rapids gets a casino or not. It's called competition.
Look at the fast food places we have. All the restaurants, too. One does not cannibalize the other. They compete against each other. We have numerous car repair places, dealerships, grocery stores. Some people have a favorite and others go where they feel the price is right. We have Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens. They all sell miscellaneous items - food, makeup, clothes and more. Again competition.
Whoever came up with the word cannibalize where a new casino in another town might be built is afraid of competition. Think it might have been the owner of Riverside Casino? You really think he'd build a water park here? Fat chance.
