Letter: Iowa senators urged to consider nominee

It is so refreshing to see a Republican in Congress who has the integrity and the guts to do the right thing. Brava Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) for having the courtesy to give Merrick Garland what every American deserves - the right to be heard. As a result of sitting down and talking with the man she formed her own conclusion that he was 'extraordinarily bright” and well qualified for the position of a Supreme Court justice.

I would be proud to have someone like Sen. Collins representing me in Congress - someone who is fair-minded. Instead, I am embarrassed by the Senators representing the fair and hardworking people of Iowa; stonewalling Senators who are all too willing to do the Republican thing instead of the right thing.
