Letter: Insect populations have dwindled

Aug. 5, 2016 1:00 am
Regarding Carole Teator's July 15 guest column 'Where have all the insects gone?”
I wonder, too. I haven't seen ladybugs in several years. I don't need insect repellents when outside anymore.
People want sunny weather and move to desert areas, but want green grass and trees. We want water, but no rain. We want colorful and singing birds, but kill their food: insects and weed seeds.
There should be a reissue of Rachel Carson's 'Silent Spring.”
