Letter: Increasing military budget doesn’t make sense
Gloria Jahnel
May. 27, 2017 1:00 am
I become disheartened when I see the direction that our president and Congress are taking our country.
Our increase of the military has taken precedence over education, the environment and social issues.
Educators should be valued and compensated as they educate our youth and our next generation. Education is vital to what makes our country good.
Let us not become a nation who values military over citizens.
The military is important and I understand that, but increasing the military by $12.5 billion while all our other vital institutions are cut to bare bones does not make sense to me.
