Letter: Grassley refuses to do his job

Iowa Democrats, go to a mirror, and ask yourself if you voted in 2014. If you did not, then you helped hand over the Senate to the GOP. You are partly responsible for the crisis over nominating Justice Antonin Scalia's replacement.
President Barack Obama is doing what the Constitution says is in his job description: nominating someone to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court. Republicans are abdicating their constitutional role, saying they can't do this. If any of us so brazenly selected which parts of the job description to do or not do, we'd be kicked to the curb.
Sen. Grassley is toting the party line of obstruction, misstating the facts, refusing to do his job, and putting the very mechanisms of government at risk. Will Iowa remember in November?
