Letter: Grassley, Ernst did not represent Iowa voters

On Feb. 7, the U.S. Senate confirmed Betsy DeVos, a highly unqualified billionaire, for Secretary of Education.
DeVos never attended public schools, didn't send her children to public schools, never taught in schools, and has fought against funding public education.
Her opinion of public education is that it is 'a monopoly, a dead end.”
It seems DeVos was selected for this cabinet position because she and her family have given at least $200 million to the Republican Party. Are cabinet positions now for sale to the highest bidder?
Despite DeVos's lack of qualifications for the office, both Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst voted to confirm her.
We deserve better representation than this. Senators Grassley and Ernst no longer represent Iowa voters, they represent the interests of the plutocracy.
