Letter: Grassley displaying courage, wisdom

The politicization of the Supreme Court vacancy is evidence that Sen. Chuck Grassley is right to put off hearings until after the general election.
It would be unfair to any nominee, to the court and to the country, to allow the partisan debate to capitalize media attention in the midst of a presidential campaign. The fact that the issue is being used as a tool to try to defeat Sen. Grassley demonstrates the very reason it should be deferred. Media concentration on weeks or months of contentious hearings would not improve matters nor serve a worthy purpose.
I'm proud of the courage and wisdom of Sen. Grassley. A less honest politician would just go through the motions of holding hearings and drag out any decision.
