Letter: Goose round up was the right choice

Two years ago we went to a concert at Noelridge Park and once was enough. There was so much goose poo - you parked in it, walked in it and sat in it. To find a place to put a blanket to listen to music was not possible. We never went again. I felt sorry for people with homes across from the park as I'm sure their yards were in the same condition. The lagoon itself was dirty and a mess.
The round up was great in my view. The meat goes to food banks after being processed. They need to do it two or three times a year.
Goose lovers don't worry - hundreds still are by Cedar Lake behind Quaker Oats, along the river, Ellis Park, amphitheater and I don't see much decline at Noelridge, either. The young return to where they were born so all the young left out of the round up will be back. There are too many to 'enjoy.” I myself didn't enjoy them. A few on a pond would be nice, but as many as we have in just Cedar Rapids is overpopulated and too many to enjoy.
