Letter: Golfer finds golf course fees humorous

I went to play golf at the Ellis Golf Course in Cedar Rapids on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon.
I asked in the pro shop if I could have a 9-hole fee. The lady behind the counter advised the young man by the register to ring up a nine-hole fee. Kachink, kachink.
'That'll be $19,” he said.
'Really? What is the 18-hole fee?,” I asked.
'$19,” he said.
After reasonable laughter I opted for the 18-hole ticket.
I don't know if a private golf course would provide humor with their fees. Probably not. Wait a minute. Maybe they would have more accommodating prices.
