Letter: Give President Trump a chance

When 'leaders” say they intend to block every effort a new president makes before he even steps into the White House, they are like a nest of thieves attempting to steal the results intended by the free choice of the American people.

Just before Barack Obama took office he said, 'We are five days away from fundamentally changing America.” The dictionary says the fundament of something is its very base, its foundation. America's foundation is the U.S. Constitution. So Obama's goal was to change our very system of government. That would have been the time to 'kick up one”s heels” if the country was of prime importance.

Never having endured the horrors dictators impose on the masses with a takeover, we don't scare easily or take seriously enough the mind-set contrary to our constitution that fester here in America, on our campuses, in the public square and in too many elected 'leaders.”

When leaders fail their oath of office that is the time to complain, not before. Most of what Donald Trump wants to do sounds good, but some 'leaders” won't let the derogatory rhetoric die down, in this way they hope to air their petty peeves and shortchange voters.

We are truly a split nation, but not yet a hopeless one. Our nation's founding still captivates enough fair-minded people who judge actions rather than presumptions. Trump's background of associations is far superior to Obama's, but we forget.
