To the thousands of Linn County residents who took time on their doorsteps to share their concerns, ideas, and well wishes about the election and my role in it - thank you! People's genuine interest in our community and the advancement of progress for our state is heartening.
While the result of my particular race did not go the way I had hoped, the experience of running for State Senate has been a huge highlight in my life and one I do not regret. Meeting numerous incredible Iowans, gaining a deeper understanding of the issues, making new friends, along with other unique facets of the campaign are a part of me and I am a better person having had this experience.
I will continue my work in my local service roles with even greater energy and purpose going forward. I appreciate so many of you being invested in Iowa's future. Let's all move forward to impact it in our own positive ways: serving, advocating, supporting, and being involved.
