Letter: Freedom is not easily attained

In the land where freedom reigns, an individual has the right to burn a piece of cloth, not stand when it is raised or goes by at the front of parades.
Citizens can speak and write against our nation's flag, march in protest, desecrate, dislike and drape it around their body.
They have the liberty to do these things; however, when done it shows disrespect to all of those who fought and died for the human privilege of choice in this country. It also shows how little respect they have for themselves.
If you cut the heart of every American open there is only one color of blood - red.
Freedom is not attained easily nor without cost to keep it that way.
