Letter: Fill the Supreme Court vacancy

How many of you get the feeling that we are getting stonewalled by our politicians? It seems like they are not listening to us. Maybe they don't care about what we think until it's time to get elected again. Is that why Donald Trump is doing so well in the primaries?
Take our current problem, the Supreme Court vacancy. The Republicans won't talk about a replacement. The Constitution says the president's job is to nominate a replacement and the Congress appoints. It does not say we'll stonewall everybody until we get our way. Our Supreme Court is very important and it has a big backlog of work to do. Let's help them do their job. What would your boss say if you told him you wouldn't do your job until next year?
Remember, we vote. This seems to be the only time our politicians really listen. Election time is coming. Sitting politicians should be wary and mindful of not having performed their jobs.
