Letter: Faculty, students should model proper behavior

An open letter to University of Iowa President Bruce Harreld:
A very warm welcome to the University of Iowa.
I am appalled at the way some students and some faculty have been treating you. And, starting even before you moved in.
Many of us understand the value of having a business person at the helm. Academia has to realize that understanding financials is needed to keep the university from sinking into red ink.
You have amazingly kept your cool through all this turmoil.
I can't believe Iowans, who are usually helpful to others, are behaving like this. It is bad enough for the students to be brash and unruly, but the faculty should have some decorum and proper behavior.
Go, Bruce! Go, Hawks!
