Letter: Explain why golf courses are losing money

The recent Cedar Rapids City Council decision to give City Manager Jeff Pomeranz and his staff a raise and bonus is undoubtedly without question warranted.
However, for the sake of transparency, it would be great if it also was published what percentage of this raise will be charged to the municipal golf course budget so we the public can better understand one of the reasons why the golf courses are losing money each year.
Hopefully, the new City Council and mayor will take a hard look at the itemized expenses in the golf course budget and not be shy about asking for explanation on several items contained therein.
